360 FWD -

I have 260 and my mate in his ED30 has 300bhp and he doesn't even struggle for grip whereas I sometimes do. He has DSG though so might make the difference. His is alot smoother power whereas mine has a big power surge at 3k which is when the wheels try to spin...

That white ED30 is porn

DSG is gay. Don't get me wrong he pulls on me so much on gear changes but it's so boring

How is it more cost effective to plough money into a car that is rapidly depreciating? You'll never see that money back and even if you was to split it to sell on the after market parts it's alot of faffing around to get not alot of money back.

Onwards and upwards dear boy

Don't keep chucking money at the MK4.

If your considering your next car now then even if you mod the Mk4, won't be long before your back looking at MK5's.

It really does depend on how long you plan to keep the car.
If I invested in the MK4, I would keep it far longer.
I am not in the business of loosing money on purpose!
But looking at the bigger picture, over a period of time (if I was keeping the car) it would prove more cost effective, than stumpping up 10k, rather than running the mk4 more or less into the ground, then making a 10k investment.

"Modifications" - it would only be sensible upgrades, replace the bushes etc.. Just normal things a 10 year old car needs really.

An ivestment is made to make money, you're not "investing" in your car, you're maintaining it.
