You don't need lights on during the day, I've turned my 'daytime' lights off on my Volvo for this reason.

More than likely you will get a tug and a fine.

Nice point about the fact of more than 2 lamps showing light.

yea just use your headlights. i always have mine on too unless its a real bright day. i find it makes a huge difference to people seeing you at junctions...and a massive difference on the motorway!

They would defo be classed as fog lights though. Just use headlights i reckon.

DLRs should only be used by cars that have them fitted as standard. Retro fit ones look very Halfords and are probably illegal as they have to switch off when the dipped beams are turned on.

Looking at your picture, they are fog lights, due to the distance from the road surface to the lights in question.

Alot of DRL equipped cars are higher up to avoid being called foglights - and to comply with new eu legislation.

Just so you are aware, the limit distance for use of fog lights (adverse weather conditions) is 100 metres (328 feet)

If the weather is not foggy, and you do get spoken to, I would think a £30 non-endorseable fine would be issued.

Which for information falls under Section 25 of the Vehicle Lighting Regulations 1978, which then was included in the RTA (road traffic act) 1988.

They dont suit the car anyway. The headlights are that yellowish colour and the fogs are much whiter.
