I have only ever seen one of these in the UK, and it was by spaghetti in Birmingham (J6 M6 for non-Midlands folk).
Don't think it's open any more, only went there the once as my car was running on fumes but it was expensive and as was the case with everyone else's experiences on this thread some old guy was filling up the tank for me.

Our place still does this, we are always busy as the locals come here just get someone else to fill up even though we are 5-9p more expensive than the next nearest places.
