this is what happened last night:

i was driving on the motorway tonight doing about 70mph , looking in the rear view mirror as you do, all of a sudden i cant see anything out of it, white smoke which i can only discribe as dense as a house fire pouring out my exhaust. let the gas off cars are trying to get through this big smoke cloud. manage to get off onto the hard shoulder, pop the bonnet up, but the head gasket hasnt blown as i expected. oil is just normal black. call a bloke i know who works for a recovery company, who comes to pick it up. he tells me to drive it up to the next junction cause its too dangerous to put on the vrs ( ramp ) in the dark with cars going that speed. anyway, as i do, the smoke gets less and less till eventually the isnt any. by the time we pull over its back to normal? on the way back with him following i notice the tappets are going like mad, which they never do. keep drivng and after about 10 minutes they go back to normal too? exhaust is still black with the oil, but the cars not smoking and is driving normally.

however tonight , i put some solution into the oil which is supposed to stop a oil leak. do you think this has caused the big oil dump or do you think its a engine problem, as i say the cars working 100% again as i drove it back.

seems 100% normal after a oil change, i think we eput it too much of the solution to stop leaks and it was burning it all off.

got the back mudflaps on, which is looking good, and a black trim for the kick plates. picutres tomorrow hopefully.

Are them pads only on half the disc?!!!

Smoke could of it just been burning it off. Keep a eye on the oil level and the coolant.

yesterday i thought id fit my new manifold, got out there nice and early thinking it shouldnt be too much of a job. jacked the car up , and started to take the SAI off as the new maniford didnt cater for it.

took a little while to get this off but wasnt a problem.

next was to undo the nuts on the top of the manifold and the two bolts connecting it to the cat. with great difficulty i managed to get it out of the engine bay.

put them up against eachother they look good.

get the other one all bolted in, turn the key, and a tank like noise erupts. its blowing like fuck!
Find out where its blowing from and take it round the block. any sort of bump in the road you hear this metal noise, and im thinking great manifolds hitting the floor.
so after all that put the old manifold back on the car and chuck the stainless on ebay. what a waste of a weekend!

looking at getting a 4-2-1 next which will not hit the floor hopefully .
