The concil were in my street fitting new drains one day. We used to have a full kerb onto the driveway so my dad went over to the guys and gave them a tenner and asked if they could drop the kerb - he was leaving and thought it'd be good if they did it but not too much of a loss if they just fucked off. He came back to find the kerbs gone and replaced by a nice patch of tarmac, it's starting to flake around the edges now (after about 10 years) but it does the job.

They're purely extorting you trying to charge a grand.

If the wood works, stick some concrete or alike down with a metal pole in the middle..

The wood is gonna keep moving?

If the council object easy to remove?

Can you not just park it the way it is there?

Wood is going to be a bit of an eyesore, unless your going to pick them up and put them out every time your going in/out. Would become a bit of a pain in the arse!

The corsa isnt an every day car so im not bothered about picking planks up and sticking them in the shed. But i would prefer a proper looking driveway that slopes down to the road.

House was built in 63 iirc.

the one to the right of your car looks alot less steeper than your one :s .. all the council need to do is lay some tarmac from the rdge in the curb piece and smooth it to the roa so you got a nice even ramp

I'd just change it myself. Relay the pavement flags to fall a bit steeper towards the road then put a normal drop kerb in. Sorted.

guy in my street has put a scaffy bar down so that water can flow through and then laid cement down over the top to make a ramp, works pretty well and doesnt build up water like some others do
