never play consecutive numbers, especially 6 of them, you have no chance of winning
Surely you have just as much chance as any other combination?
Be funny to see mind
Just as much chance of 1 2 3 4 5 6 coming out than 21 02 05 16 35 41 etc
Chance of consecutive numbers coming out is less than random one's even if the odds stay the same.
Or I may be wrong, been a long time since I done any maths, and I failed it.

AlunJ is correct... just as much chance of the numbers coming out.... BUT, I would think that if they did come out in order, there's more chance someone else would have the same set and you'd end up with a smaller share of winnings.

The prize fund tonight is considerable.
Unless I am missing something the odds are no different to a normal week with a substantially lower prize fund?
Quite a few people who dont normally play are purchasing a ticket for tonight.
uhm.....

Because the same odds are giving a shot at 112 instead of 5 or somethin crap that wouldn't buy much.

so its only worth buying a ticket for 112 million, not worth spending the 1.50 for a 5 mil jackpot then?

The odds of winning are irrespective of how many players there are, its just how much share of the jackpot you would win.
If you had 4 numbers and you had to choose 1, your odds are 1 in 4 regardless of how many others are playing.

Absolutely correct, I don't bother until it's 50mil +.

the odds are the same for any 6 numbers you pick across the board? the actual number itself has no meaning on what balls physically drop out the machine as it could be anyone.

We have lottery bingo in my work and generally everyone uses their actual lottery numbers and 2 folk in the 30 have similar numbers to that. One has 123456 and the other is 456789, so I guess a lot of folk play those numbers thinking they are being different lol.

Do you never have banter with people?
Shop Keeper - This is the lucky ticket, I can feel it
Me - Do I get a refund if it isn't? Look at the ticket...
Shop Keeper - Haha, a lot more people than you think use numbers like that.

Does it matter how the numbers go into the machine? As in would it be more of a coincidence if 1,2,3,4,5,6 went in the machine like that, and then came out like that? Surely that makes it more unprobable.

say the no.1 ball comes out first, then there are 47 chances it could be anything but ball no.2, but only 1 chance it could be ball no.2, repeat for each number.
would be epic for them all to come out in a row
