I've had a bad back for 8 years this December, and in all honesty the only thing that has helped was a steroid injection. Its massively painful for the first 2 or 3 days afterwards, your can't drive and are pretty much bed bound. I was asleep most the afternoon and next day after I had it.
If you can get forwarded to a pain clinic and it comes up take it. It lasts about 4 to 6 months.
I really should have continued it but thought 6 months after the first that it was fine.
Nowadays I just top myself up on pain killers daily

I have an epic chair at work that has sorted my back RIGHT out since I had trouble at work before.
