I suppose, there is one round here, 58 plate, 35inch mud tyres, snorkel, safari rack, front winch, HD recovery bumpers, underbody protection etc.
It gets polished and waxed constantly and has never ever seen mud or dirt best thing is it probably costs £25,000+ just to sit on his drive.

But you didn't say that it 'isn't sorted for off-road use', you said it doesn't get used properly. Just beacuse the paint is kept in good condition, doesn't mean it isn't used properly
It's being used for the purpose it was intended - being able to drive through boggy ground, over deep wet mud etc. What other purpose was the Defender 90 built for, in it's off the shelf spec?

I'd take the 500 out of that lot, nothing else tickles my fancy other than his house

I think the house is nice too
maybe they're just comparing it to the cars? But as it stands on it's own, it's nice IMO

You may have done that in a £500 Frontera but not a £20k worth of Defender..

I'm not fussy a beefed up defender will make me a happy man if I won the lottery I couldn't see me buying anything too flashy anyway, you'd never want to leave the thing for fear of it being damaged

Exactly! Go drive your £500 frontera through a hedge to show it gets used properly!

What Nath said. If I had enough money to own 5 cars (including the Fezza), I wouldn't want to live in a flat, bland, boring brick built house.

It may be bland but that house will still be worth a considerable wedge The F355 is immense. Fucking wonderful motor.

I'd do the same. Whether he's single or has a family I doubt he has the need for a 9 bedroom mansion, why not just get a house which is more than big enough but not massive?
And has anyone thought that maybe it's not as small as it looks? It looks like it has at least 5 bedrooms.

If I had a 20k defender I would be doing that, thats what its for, Ive got mates with defenders that cost a lot more than that to build they get used properly.
Its just a waste of money to not use it properly.

How is driving my car through a hedge using it properly?

Some of these comments are a bit daft and I don't agree with - but the £20,000 Defender and not "using it properly" I agree with.
That's like buying a Veyron and doing 30mph everywhere - why not just buy a Astra?
