I'm refering to him making the comparison to Ken blocks car. Which is totally different to a old N reg Corsa.

I'm not saying it isn't awesome at all, and i'd be suprised if it didn't sell for 6 - 7k.

But then like the comment above, i'd always be thinking if this breaks, i have a N reg green corsa shell, some coilovers and a few other bits and bobs.

but with the fiesta you'd have a 53 plate fiesta shell etc etc.

Are you really comparing your car to his in terms of value?

I'd imagine Ken blocks car to be upwards of 100k to build, so yes, if it was up for 10k i'd buy it. It's an all rounder, straight line quick, handling, braking all amazing.

Not really, the value of the parts on his fiesta i'm sure would make 50k + second hand which would make it a viable risk buying it and trying to maintain it. The wheels and tyres he uses are around 3.5k a set alone.

In parts its worth £7k+, as it stands, you'll be lucky to see 2/3s of that.

the turbo, manifold, ecu etc etc on the corsa would also be worth about 50% of the price of the car. its the same thing really when you think about it in terms of acceptable value after failure. its a similar percentage. see what im saying?

A 10 second 1/4 mile car for 7k!!! BARGAIN, I would of thought the right person would easily pay 10k+.

Yes its an old Corsa, but thats not what your paying for. Its the Spec / Development and proven results that'll sell it for a good value!

Good luck with the sale if you do let it go Chris.

I just don't see it personally as viable risk when like pick4d said, if you break it you'll see 7k+ so buying it for 7k doesn't seem worth it, there has to be something appealing like saving some money etc.

no i mean if you are saying the fiesta is a 100k car worth 50k in bits if it breaks, then the corsa if it breaks could get back 50% of its for sale price as well.

ignore the risk. its worth 7k easily as a road going 10 second car. how many of them are for sale for 7k? probably 20k worth for a 4wd to do them times.

surely with your motorsport engineering degree you understand half of what that car is and the value of the parts listed in the advert?

So you paid X amount for your s200 and expect to make more on it when selling it?

IMO chris's car is worth the cash.

slightly different ?

I buy a car knowing it may depriciate slightly. If you read up I've said it's an awesome car for 7k I just wouldn't buy it due to the risk f being left with an expensive rebuild.

Infact that's the reason I don't use the s2k on track and bought the BMW. Because an s2k engine is 2.5k ish and I can't warrant the risk at the moment.

it is an engineering feet to propel a Corsa over a 1/4 mile in 10 seconds.

Chris said you'd be left with a 10k fiesta and I'm saying you'd make 5x the value back, as with the Corsa you would just make back the purchase value.
