That will be worse than a normal cat, sports cat and decat.

Why are you going to butcher a cat to make a de-cat? just buy a bit of pipe and cut it to length and clamp it in place of the cat.

Might be intending to do what I did with mine and cut the Old cat out and weld pipe in its place - that way you keep the flange and correct alignment and don't have yet another couple of stupid clamped joints to try to seal.

This is how mine is, 5 minute job to change, sealed with exhaust paste just to be sure. Doesn't blow at all. Loosen them 2 bolts and loosen the bolts at the manifold, take the exhaust off 1 of the hangers and it pushes out.

It's a 5 min job to swap the whole cat pipe on the Corsa - 2 bolts at the dowpipe termination, and 1 clamp at the centre section termination

I personally wouldn't want to increase the amount of joints/flanges to faff with on mine over what I have to do already

My plan was cut the cat off, get some money for it off the scrap man. Then swage in a section of straight pipe

I had a sports cat on the astra and a pre cat decat and passed mot fine. Performance wise it was very minimal but never brought on any lights however with the peddle test it logged a fault but it wiped it when i mapped my car.

It's got to be worth over a fiver, and with the batteries it's shouldn't be too bad

Pete my GSI didn't suffer from the codes on the sports cat but I'm guessing the ecu reads wildly differently being forced induction

It might have been the pre cat that caused the codes. Either way it didnt make a difference to performance and didnt bring on a dash light. I had a decat in my corsa sport and it made it a lot more free flowing in the higher gears at low speed. Cost £20 from a garage that made it for me, i sold the car before its next mot but i imagine it would have failed as you got high off the fumes after driving for a bit.
