I really want an Astra VXR but this is the main thing putting me off. Over the past 6-12 months when i see one on the road they look really dated with the square edges.

Don't see how they look like the new Meganne 250 either, they are a lot more rounded, more like the new shape astra. A Red one with black wheels came up behind me on the motorway with the LED spots, I soon moved over

Fucking ridiculous saying a car looks dated.

Compared to what? Never heard such ridiculous statements.

Honestly mate, don't buy new when the new VXR is out in around a year, get one with low mileage with loads of warranty left.

Me & Stocker done the same, saved loads.

Dated as in they have been about for more than 5 years and car designs have moved on, hence the new shape.

Not at first they won't, won't be until they are 6 months old until you get money off.

Imo you can haggle with Vaux even more so than normal with the Arctic, they only produced the Arctic because they have loads of parts and shells to get shot of. I was thinking of doing the same (going brand new) but tbh i dont think its worth it, instead im going to save and buy one out right a few months old

The only thing different about the burg and a standard Vxr is the paint job and Remus exhaust afaik.

Is the extra cash for White paint really worth it?

I think they'll be discounting the new Astra VXR right from the word go. Astons and a few other large dealerships did straight away when the Insignia VXR came out.

I've said this before, so I'll say it again.

These cars are never really discounted.

Nobody in the history of the earth has paid list price for a vauxhall unless they are a complete and utter retard.

'Dicounted' is just the realistic price they sell them at.

I've known Astons and other dealerships to sell new cars at less than cost.

That is most definitely a discount, the usual £XXX under RRP isn't though.

Agreed! and if its the black bits that you like about the Arctic, it wouldnt be a great deal to recreate that image with the Burg.

comparing AFL to a set of ebay HID's for 40 quid, your a fucking idiot!

my dad had AFL on his astra sport hatch and the headlights are amazing!! cant even compare them to standard halogen lamps with a HID kit in. thought you'd have a bit more sense than to come out with something like that.

IMO you wanna be getting all the options you can afford, if for nothing else then when you come to sell it it will be better to have a well spec'd one.
