They are really good value now, if I hadn't had one and hated it so much I'd probably buy one now.

the ph1 rear lights are crap, by putting ph2 rear lights in make the car look 10x better. And the ph2 chrome door handles.

It's nothing to do with the rear, it's the whole front end and the interior is shocking.

IMO, the ph1s are awful looking cars. I have never seen one that i like, 182s on the other hand can sometimes look nice and seem to be decent enough cars.

FF 182 with both cup packs (like i've had) and your onto a winner

For someone like me it was perfect, the best compromise for road and track. They handle fantastically well and they are quicker than other 172s. Id always feel handicapped in a full fat.
Are you being serious? If they are quicker there is no way you would feel it on either the road or track. All marketing bullshit TBH

^^^ Yeah its the same with UKDM vs JDM DC2's.JDM has more power, but on the road theyr is no difference in performance.
I dont have a Clio Sport, but i still prefer the looks of the P1.

I can just picture a guy crashing his 'Cup' and saying 'I wish i had got the normal version with the ABS ' but i've saved 0.0001 seconds off my journey each time i've been out

ph1 is fucking awful, ph2 is miles better looking!
The only reason I would have a ph1 is for a track toy

Ph1's are a fucking bargain right now for a toy, you can pick them up for around £1300

If it's all in order etc for that money then it's a PROPER bargain!

A 2.0 16v in a car that handles well for under 1500, not sure what else you could buy that would come close in terms of fun/cheap track toy. It's cost me more to get my XSI up to a quick standard and it straight line speed a 172 would still be quicker, for a fair bit less. Very underated car.

Just thinking about it, the difference between the ph1 and ph2 looks more like 7 or 8 years not 3

What they are up for and what people actually pay are 2 different things.
Who in their right mind would pay that for an old, old looking ph1 when you can get a ph2 or 182 for that?

Not just yours, I was talking about the mentioned 3.6k one here, but none of them are worth even half that.
