2 litre Ecotec I think you should try, I reckon that would work well in a corsa. Just the right amount of power.

A 1.6 Corsa is slower than a 2.0 Corsa.

If you modify the 1.6 Corsa then you might get it faster than a 2.0 Corsa.
If the 2.0 Corsa is modified then that will probably be quicker still.

Andy's got a highly modified 1.6 on TB's but I bet if the same amount had been spent on a 2.0, the latter would be quicker.

My old Corsa had the 2.0xe fitted by Cortenay orinally (an absolute trek!), then a lot of the bitty work (motorsport shafts, hubs, engine mounts, F20 box, paddle clutch etc) I did myself, and then I passed the car to Northampton motorsport for the Webcon ECU and throttle bodies to be fitted. I think Beardy is the man to speak to at the moment about conversions.

A mate of mine (Brett Rogan) did a 2.5 V6 conversion in his Nova, that thing was mental. The drive was a bit different, his car was quite smooth with a nice power delivery, mine was a bit more revvy and harder work (8,000rpm limit mind). The V6 was a lot harder work to fit and things like shafts and engine mounts are harder to come by as it isnt a popular conversion. It would definately be different and it looks nice too!

Sod that, just go for the 1.6. You will regret it otherwise.

log book u just send off, with the changes on, no cost and they ask for nothing......

theres no point going for a 1.6 unless u have ALOT of money to spend on engine, and i am not talking a few k, we are taking loads (ask Andy), as the 1.6 isent very good really for money to speed ratio.
best way to put it is patricks 1.6 fitted and with the throttle bodys, costs say :-
1500 for engine conv
1500 for throttle bodys (and odds and ends)
total 3k
u can do a 2lt 16v for about half that
and just look at both Adam K's and Patricks 1/4 mile times, and adam K's is still STANDARD where patricks is modded, to the limits of a normal persons money can take them, (Andys bank manger must be mad)

2lt 16vs is alot better and is worth the few extra pennys

patricks is 170bhp and has quite alot of engine work done and alot of money spent on it.
Adam K about 160bhp Standard, and is fasts and works out cheaper...
