That refers to the PAYG side. The bundles aka 'Goodybags' will continue to be unlimited after this date (they'll carry on pushing this date forward anyways).

August-ish I think. Thats why I ended up doing a wipe in September cause my upgrade to OS4 didnt go so well and it took me about a month to get fed up of not being able to update any apps.

Yip, instead of upgrading the networks to support the future just throttle everybody back, great idea.

My allowance is 750mg and I use around 600mg a month give or take. However, I do use wireless at home quite a bit. And I'm on fb and here a lot, downloading the odd youtube clip and game.

You should be fine. Just get an app where u can monitor your internet usage

Was that an attempt at a joke?
Eitherway, a quick google will tell you what GiffGaff is

No, seriously. Ive been on their site before, I figured its a network, but ive never heard of it - so I assumed they cant be that popular and subsequently arent a great network to be on...

They've only been going for a year or so. But GiffGaff is a cheap online-community-based no frills mvno ran by O2.

O2 network is pathetic (I'm on it).

Their CEO was at a dinner function with my father and he was telling him about exactly the data problem mentioned before, the networks just dont have the capacity at the moment. They all know it and they arent that bothered.

There is also a recurring problem on O2 at the moment where calls bounce straight to voicemail regardless of signal level or whether your phone is in use and texts can take hours to come through. From threads on other forums, its not restricted to one phone (initial blame was being pegged on iPhones but HTC and others have had it happen as well). Someone on PH who worked in that field reckoned the problem should be solved by Christmas (the discussion was in October iirc).

Not got internet in my flat yet so been using my iphone for all my browsing recently, been using the 500mg with about a week to spare so they limit the speeds (which make it almost pointless trying to look at anything). But as said if you have access to wifi at home and only use it out and about I doubt you'd ever go over 500mg.

To answer the question, 500MB is plenty for anyone... just dont constantly stream radio or tether the device and youll be 100% fine.

Also, to help, dont download apps on your phone, do it via iTunes on your comp as some games and stuff can be over 100MB

Your phone tells you to connect via wifi or computer if the app is >10MB and stops the download.

Believe on O2 you need to pay to tether. Despite having the iPhone bolt on mine won't tether unless I pay for something (vague memory, only tried it once)

Bring me up to date then Robbo, why was the 500mb limit brought in?

500mb isn't a lot just now and it'll quickly become even less as more people want to consume more rich content on the move.

Are you honestly asking that question John? Money dictates everything in this world.
