Yeah that's him, he killed that Frontera

Was looking on eBay earlier, so tempted to buy a proper old school Disco for a couple of hundred to blast around in for a couple of weeks

95% of it was either scrapped or sold.

Engine went into my Series 3 (Defender rep):

Also going to fit the axles off it so it has disks all round rather than drums!

Have done so much to it tho! Defender wings, doors, interior, fitted power steering, everything painted, soft top e.t.c. The list is endless

Thread hi-jack

I've been driving my Uncle & Aunty's Land Rover Defender today for them to go feed some of their sheep that were up on a hill in the middle of nowhere. My Aunty didn't dare go. There were no snow drifts like in the pics in this thread but it went up and down some stupidly steep snowy hills that cars couldn't get up and it never slipped or skidded once! Properly ace

Which did you get Jamie?

Ive been eyeing up the RR Sports the past few days, its no fun having a car stuck in the garage that you cant use because of the weather, it was the same last year. Might as well get something I can use all year round!!

There was a RR sport infront of me in the last batch of snow, going down a dodgy icy hill, had to ditch it in the grass so he didn't hit the car in front, then couldn't get out the grass.

Surely that's because they haven't got it all set up right?

Even if I had a 4x4 of some sort I wouldn't know what the fuck to do with it. All this talk of diff locks, low range, high range.

You normally just turn a dial to snow now, anyone who can't work that probably shouldn't be driving anyway.

Poor driving to blame more than anything. A 4x4 has the same grip as average joes car if you dip the clutch. 4 wheel drive is only any good if its actually driving the wheels.

Yeah on the RR's & Disco's you just turn a dial to what ever type of surface you are travelling on.

On the Defenders you use a small gearstick and clunk some pieces of metal together

I agree, I'd expect a rangy to have some computer that accounted for bad drivers going down hills, I'd be very surprised if it doesn't.
