Well I had already budgeted for the car... but I'm thinking the bits I've sold off the s2000 can help pay for tuning on the clio.

So far the list is looking like:

6 point OMP rollcage
AST or H&R coilovers
FIA Sparco Sprint Seat + Rails
4 point harness
Fire extingisher
Another set of wheels.

So gez, in the dry is yours fine then?

WR

P.S. there's loads of costs outside of the car for racing.

e.g.

FIA approved Helmet - £300+
Race Suit - £240 +
Nomex Gloves - £60
Ards License Test - £275

It seriously needs a LSD rory.
I'm unsure if it's as high power as I thought, I need to jack it up and see what we've got underneathe .. e.g. 182 manifold, straight through system etc.

That or it's been below 0 for a month now and even a corsa 1.2 8v will be spinning in 3rd.

Interesting Pridzz... why is fitting the 182 manifold such a pain? I've seen the shape is completely different to the 172 one ... it flows a lot more behind the engine so understandable why it makes power.

K-Tec panel ... so is it an idea to just stick with standard air filter box?

How much are the remaps and is it just on standard ecu or piggy back?

What straight through exhausts do you recommend for performance / price?

Taking it down surrey rolling road on the 29th... not expecting any miracles with the figures to be honest. Think it's just light so feels quick.

Fire extingisher? If my car set on fire I'd be out of it as if there was a rocket up my arse.

Nice cars, nice price!

182 manifold effects the entire rev range. The 172 manifold although fine for peak power, creates a series of peaks and troughs in the torque curve, particularly in the lower half of the rev range.

Trouble with changing it tho - K-tec say its about a 5hour job and quote on 5hours of Labour, You have to drop the subframe etc, etc, Match a full system with the 182 Manifold the bore on 172's are 2-1/4" i think were as 182 is 2.5"
Here is a guide to doing it tho - http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?313845-182-manifold-coversion-on-172

Yeah id stick with the standard airbox - Ph1 172's probarly have the best airbox's - The Espace v6 Airboxs seem better tho and with an uprated filter see best gains!

Here is a link to K-tec's stage 1 which is there own brand KTR replacment airfilter and remap its on standard ECU
http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=3691&appid=2

And Exhaust for performance and price - If your going down the 182 Manifold route id go De-cat which is what ive got and then.. http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=1088&appid=2

Another MOD people bang on about is Machine matching the Inlets - Aparntly thats the best buck for BHP...
