I never understood the appeal in doing this, seems a weird thing to want to do. Surely it makes the key more bulky and annoying?

Aye don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking it the flip cases definetely look better. Just that it seems like an awful lot of work and hassle for what it's worth from what I've heard.

Go to timpson's before you start and get a key cut for £7, means that you can at least get in the car if you fuck it up completely.

When I got a new blade cut, guy enquired as to why, told him. Slated me, laughed and said it'd never work.

Guy who we know is an automotive aa key man part time as well as being a fire fighter and when he asked what I was doing he did nothing but gave me pointers and offered help if I got stuck

He was almost proud of the result

That would need to be removed from the old key and stuck inside the new key.

I stuck mine in the corner closest to the ignition barrel when the key is inserted.
