Just because the torque wrench was clicking at 300Nm when you were trying to loosen them doesn't mean they were at that torque.

this is true.
also if they are taper type, they get locked in the taper making it seem they are tighter than they actually are.

Watched a garage change my wheels last week, they buzzed them up with what looked like a battery drill which i thought was odd as there was airlines lying everywhere when he put the torque wrench on them this cordless thing had torqued them right up it clicked straight away!

The battery powered guns are just easier than plugging an air line in. Saves getting tangled. The snap on ones are stronger than some air powered ones

After you snapped the breaker should of shocked them tbh. Put a socket on and then a bar and hit the end. If there really tight I wouldn't use a extension whilst trying to undo them.

Impact wrenches do just that they "Impact/shock" the bolt.. You need to use the same tactic to undo it.

Picture of the Halfords logo needed on the snapped bar tbh, as Davey says the cast texture doesn't look like Halfords advanced stuff. Their tools have a really smooth finish to them whereas that one you've got there looks like you won it in a cracker.
