My slightly tuned 1.6 kept with one once. All the way to 120mph. I was very, very surprised.

I own a slightly tune 1.6 Sport I can tell you it would not keep up with a Corsa VXR to 120mph, maybe to 60 it could be close but after that not a chance.

Why not try your hand at something else??As in another marque??
Still have the B so you will still be sticking with a Vauxhall.

pretty quick up to 60 though.

i'd get an astra vxr instead, worth the xtra insurance/running costs.

What limit are you talking about??70??

If so then you never really had a play with it to over double the limit if it seemed to go backwards from 60.

Not looking for an argument here. But I did, fact. I for one hate people when they say my 1.0 kept with a skyline today. My old corsa was 130bhp and weighed 890kg, which gives roughly the same bhp/ton as a VXR..

Been a while since I drove one but I remember it being fairly quick.

If you're unsure if that particular car has problems then drive other ones.

Just because its got a similar power to weight, doesn't mean its automatically going to stick with it though.

Its like saying Nicks corsa will keep up with a veyron because its got roughly the same power to weight? (actually the corsa might have a better one if i can count at 11.30 on a monday night after a days graft )

if your sure you want a corsa VXR then get 1 if you get something else everytime you see a corsa you will think hmmmmm what if i just got one.

test drive 2 or 3 so your 100% sure.

Ive got the new ibiza TSI and it doesnt feel rapid its just smooth but when you look down at the speedo and you realise that your doing nearly double fingures its just so effortless.

I liked my brothers corsa vxr, felt fast to me. Easily kept up with my astra gsi and may have even been faster off the mark. Only downthing for me was the seats, much prefer the bigger astra seats. Suspension was pretty solid too compaired to my gsi but maybe im just old.

Bought on a fad, no more practical than a normal D, more expensive, more unwelcome attention, by the time you're old enough to afford one, you don't feel like owning it, etc.

I would have one all day long, but not as a main car.
