when i was doing mine there must have been a glitch between confused and admiral as it showed one price on admirals site but then was cheaper on confused (which isn't usually the case for me) then phoned them and it got even cheaper

I had mum as an admin supervisor and dad as a company director (is cheaper than being self employed/working with vehicles)

Tis true, I insured the lovely ex of mine for 2 weeks, cost me like £60 so we could share the driving when we went on holiday. She drove it about 30 miles, exclaimed 'I don't like it' and never drove it again

Do you actually have a common law partner and can proove this? Is your official Job title IT tech? Do you actually only cover 5000 miles or less a year?

Insurance companys will to anything to wriggle out of a claim, i'd rather provide accurate information and pay the extra £350 for peace of mind my £12k car is fully covered.

i recommend this!

my Nova was insured with DL and is now with Aviva as they were the cheepest at the time,

I am also with Churchill with the Mazda although their quote i suspect is linked to my 5 yrs NCD

if you have done all the comparison sites then attack the companies you don't find on them

also if you have known sister companies fight them off between each other, my mate has jumped between Admiral and Elephant over the years as they can see the quote of the "rival" and beat it!

NB
Admiral, Bell, Diamond and Elephant are all the same people based in Greyfriars Rd, Cardiff

their numbers are all 0800 118 16 with 11, 22, 33, 44 respectively!

if you need more insurers check out http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=170986 it is 7 years old now so i suspect numbers and possibly names have changed but may offer some sources you weren't aware of before

In all honesty, sell it and buy something cheaper to insure if money is tight. Insurance is going up and up each year due to the high amount of 'whip lash' claims.

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Money is tight because im choosing to tighten it tbh. Spent enough over the last year to make me budget and at least start to save a little

i went with admiral and phoned them up and kept making the office bod go back and forth to "see what the manager says"

they probably put you on hold and swig their tea instead, but they got the price down

I pay £600 to insure a Clio, my excess is nearly £1000.

I added my partner on and because we are both under 25 we each have a £250 young drivers excess, £350 compulsory excess and £100 voluntary excess. She said my total excess would be £950, does this mean if i crash I have to pay my partners excess too?

I noticed they also asked if id had and accidents or claims including glass damage, I presume this means they're increasing premiums if you claim for a new windscreen on your insurance now.
