I dont think il ever be happy. When i was 17 i thought i would be happy with an astra mk3 GSi, when i was 19 i thought i would aim for a highly modified supra and that would be enough, then as the years go on cars you dreamt about dont seem too good. At the moment im saving for a 911 and i tell myself that it should last me for a good 10 years and il be over the moon, but in reality il want something better after a few years.
However once i have a garage which includes a GT3, 993 turbo, mercedes amg black and a viper then im pretty sure my life will be complete

Good fun, especially satisfying if you build it yourself, but there are bigger things out there, i sold mine about 4 months after completion.
I've yet to take my 172 a proper drive as i'm waiting on dogbone bushes & timing/aux belt kits arriving, but i have a feeling its going to be a whole lot better than any of the XE's i've had
My old XE'd van on bike carbs was miles more fun than the 172 Cup I had.

Sounds silly
But once I have owned a zafira gsi or vxr then I'll broarden my horizons. I will aim for a better car when I leave college in 3 years, apart from that...an astra coupe would be nice.

I'll be happy when I don't have the burden of car finance looming over me.
Would be nice to have a car which is actually mine again.
That's pretty much all I need at the moment to be happy.

Mines is a fullfat, wanted something that was still quick but had some luxuries at the same time, it's also the newest car i've had (51 Plate)
I can imagine carbs to be fun, theres a lad local with a 172 cup that couldnt keep with my Corsa, maybe he cant drive it, whatever.
I just got fed up one day, i would have loved to keep my XE as a weekend toy, just felt it was time to grow up a little bit.

Maybe you should tell them to fuck off, I wouldn't get a car to help others.

748 first; I'll do what my Uncle does though and never sell a bike, ever! He's kept pretty much every bike he's ever owned or raced. His garage/workshop is like a museum.
Plus I live alone so the 748 can be parked in the living room
Edit: Plus there's a sentimental attachment to the 748; My Dad had a huge accident on one; shattered both wrists; all kinds of breakages and damage done - it tried to kill him and he's not ridden on the road since (still rides trials though). He said after I passed my test if I buy a bike he'll buy another road bike. I want him to ride the bike that almost killed him as a kind of right of passage

that said; I might be really happy this week - we've given up on trying to make the kitten show worthy and bunged in a mismatched pair of Toyota seats and mismatched harnesses; few little jobs this week and we're hoping to get an MoT on it this week!! That'll put a big smile on my face 13,000RPM (iirc)

Thats what i'll be doing when I get my own place, suppose a ground floor flat would be needed, or house.

TBF though, they aren't regarded as a fast car. They are an average quick hot hatch.Same as an XE Corsa. And not having the 182ps or whatever dosn't do them any favours.
