I sold my 2002 TDi Sport with 90-oddk on it over a year ago for 3k, had 17" FR+ alloys and other stuff on it, must be some 60k 2003/4 cars knocking around for your budget.
Just aviod 6 clock dashboards is my advice.

I got a 2007 fr tdi for 5.5, 5 for a 3 years older petrol is a bit much.

Both.
1.8t arent very common either.
150pd suffer from epic lag after a remap. And a pd130 will be about 180bhp ;-) xx
