TBH i am not sure Mclaren will be anywhere at the moment looking at the testing times and the reliability issues they are having at the moment.

Or Lotus Renault - should have been Robert Kubica's year

Though the start delay might help the teams iron out issues a bit better.

Hate all this talk of looking after tyres its racing not a sunday drive in the countrside

I hope they see the benfits of always being on a good trye( not a worn out one). So more pit stops and more strategy rather than the bridgestone 1 stoppers

Looking after your tyres is strategy. It also shows a skilful driver

Renault might do ok, certainly if Kubica was in the seat then they might have had chance at the WDC although i think it'd have been slim. Be interesting to see how the FEE does though.
I think it's RBR or Ferrari this year, McLaren seem to be having a fair few reliability issues during testing and i imagine it'll continue throughout the season.

Be interesting to see how well Lotus do this season, car certainly looks decent and i suspect they'll easily be in the top 15/mid-packers

An interesting quote from Bernie in this:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/9412871.stm

With the new season just three weeks away, Ecclestone has also proposed the introduction of a controversial computer-generated sprinkler system to spice up boring races with artificial rain.

"I'm happy to make it happen," he insisted. "I've got to get everyone to fall into line. My idea is that we should make a programme but that nobody knows exactly which one will be used.

"At some time during the race it will be raining, maybe rain more than once. It's a bit more than a sprinkler system.

"We always have thoughts to do what we can to keep people entertained, we're in the entertainment business."

I've always sort of wondered about something like this to spice up races but thought that it would be too artificial and controversial to be put into F1. Imagine the arguments if it switched on just as your driver had started a new lap and was miles infront, then spun off before he got to the pits

It's typical Bernie talk (same as him and the medals), just drumming up talk about the F1. He had the same idea about 10 years, nothing ever came of it and i can't imagine it will as it's a stupid idea.

'Brawn and zee Germans' are also looking, to put it bluntly, shit. Not only are they struggling to get parts of their car through crash-testing, they are slow. Think this season is going to be a serious struggle. Be interesting to see if Schumacher stays after this though.....

Did anyone see that special report of Force India on SSN last night. Behind the scenes etc. Was interesting.

Also, is it just me or is Paul Di Resta living the fucking dream. He looks about 16, driving F1!!!

Di Resta has been driving DTM for years. And he's 24 not 16

Anyone else see that Lotus/Renault have had their court date set - January 2012. Mental. So they can race an entire season confusing all the fans before it gets sorted out.

McLaren are off the pace of Ferrari and RBR, but I don't think they are completely dead in the water. Certainly Button said the car felt a lot lot better in yesterdays test and McLaren are sticking a load of updates on this week for testing, so by season start they may be alright. I think reliability will be McLaren's issue this season; hopefully they'll get on top it.

Testing times don't really count for a lot, but Torro are looking extremely impressive. Under-dogs of the season for sure
