My mate has just got a 530d touring. Very nice car!

I wouldn't get a rusting mondeo

Never seen a rusty one before, not that shape anyway, and I work for Ford. We have them in all the time.

Got to say, +1 on the sporty derv mondeo's, especially now you have little un in tow, last thing you need is some nice German barge that costs a small fortune to fix when it goes wrong

I would get a vectra 1.9 cdti with the sri kit. Cheap, cheerful and should get a very late one for your money. Obviously the bmw is a better car, but everything will be more (brakes, tyres, etc). Put any old shit on the vectra and not really bother about it

I can easily get a Skoda too as i work at a franchise wife simply won't have one though and it's not worth the aggro.

Will be looking into the 530d and the ST diesel when the money comes through. Will let you know how i get on

had the petrol, but to be honest it was fantastic, reliable, comfy, pretty quick, the diesel one benefits from all that but is also cheaper to insure and tax! wish i went for diesel one.

also i had a blast with a diesel one and there really was hardly much in it between 0-70 awesome buy mate
