ive had 4 corsas 1.4 sport, gsi and a redtop

also had a 106 GTi

GTi even comapred to my Mr2 Turbo and all the other cars is the best handling and most fun car i have ever owned! i would have another one in the future easy! Redtop was fun but it just wasnt as fun and as good around car as my GTi

if look into a VTS as much as a GTi also wouldnt bother me. although i do think GTi has less of a rep and is better looking

loved it.

They are so much fun it's unreal, I loved my 16v XSI and I'll not even bother telling you what cars I shocked in it because this is the internet and I would be lying, obviously, but it surprised a lot of people in cars that are quicker ''on paper''

There's a cheeky little pic of mine in this months PFC from when the photographer Neil was at Knockhill last November, 2 of my mates cars are awaiting their features printed and another ones was in last month. Serious French cars though, so much spent it's unreal.

So a heavier 130bhp ish sport has been faster than a lighter 170+bhp Clio?

or has your Corsa had loads of work done to it?

why not just buy a 106 gti and spend whatever you have to spend on 'tuning'.

O the x18xe1 with exhaust cams etc. Everyone says they are crap because they haven't owned one!
My x18xe1 with lightened flywheel, manifold (shit one tbh) and 2 1/4 inch straight through exhaust system was on par with a 106 gti which had 'breather mods' (dunno what they are) and an exhaust.
With the lightened flywheel it was unvelivably revy. it was crying out for cams and I really wish I had put them in. Because it would have seen about 145 but torque would have thrashed most things!
It was so much better than my redtop in every aspect. I would ReaLly reccomend it! Oh and was actually really reliable

Own a xe corsa and have drove a vts and corsa ftw

To answer the question, unless you spend shit loads of monies on a x16xe it will never be quicker then a GTI, Unless you fit a xe and you can beat cammed GTI's

A standard XE is more powerfull than a cammed GTI anyway, so the only other factor is the weight and the driver.

I highly doubt it. My old gti with 135bhp was a bawhair slower than a corsa xe so one with 160bhp and lighter wouldn't have a problem with them.

I bought one 3 weeks back with cams and breather mods. I think it's nippy and it's suprised a few people with alot more bhp. Had a 1.2 corsa so can't compare in power but handling it's so much better and to my surprise it feels more solid as a car.
