I'm having exactly the same with my VXR, think its partially 'cus its just developed the infamous whine and partially 'cus I never really get to make use of all the power. Its pretty annoying tbh 'cus i love the looks of the thing, just the only other thing it does for me right now is empty my wallet.

I think it's because you don't get the most out of the cars you have mate. Your car has some choice mods which should make it quite useful on track. Once you've been out at Combe see if you change your mind?
I'd get bored of any car I only got to drive to and from work in knowing it had the potential to do so much more!

MPG is good out of an Evo? You have low expectations

I'm happy with mine I suppose. It does cost quite alot to run though certainly in the way I drive it at least. But at the moment I am still care free with no house to pile money into so I guess I'm best to do it whilst I'm young. I am starting to get the state of mind that when I buy things for my car that are £500 or so I'm thinking, I could buy a nice TV for my house or a nice sofa etc. I would only sell if I decided to grow up a bit

I keep wanting to sell the Ibiza and go back to petrol. But then I keep thinking the Ibiza will be handy for saving money as im starting to save for a deposit on a house. And if I had a petrol car id thrash it everywhere more than likely. Had the ibiza 3 years now. Its a love hate relationship

Im 23 and have been driving / sharing my mk4 Y plate 2.0Dti Astra with the missus for 2 years now, always had 'slow cars' (i.e. this barge with 95hp is the fastest thing ive owned), but then since I was 18 Ive always had commitments that meant I cant afford a 'luxury' car.

However, I am pretty happy with it, its hardly a bullet but when the turbo kicks in its a nice feeling and it gets past stuff easily enough and it doesnt cost the earth to maintain or run so pleased overall - I would love to be able to upgrade to a BMW320/5d at some point though

As soon as you obtain the car you crave it becomes "the norm".. Just like everything else in the world you'll want what you havent got and what you've got will eventually bore you.

I've found that owning loads of lower value toys keeps me more satisfied than having one expensive car

Nope - bored of Vauxhalls and want something more luxurious.

However, I'm saving for a house and only drive about 1.5 miles a day anyway so I can put up with it.

I'm happy with the engine, speed and handling of the LCR, but I would like a change and maybe something similar with 4WD/AWD.

But some things make me happy that I wouldn't find in other cars I like. For instance, the black roof lining.

depends what you look for in a car. I think if pace etc is all you look for then you will always be bored of a car as you get used to the power and speed and crave for more
