there's a few videos on youtube when you search for octavia VR6, but they all seem to be Mk2's and using the R32 engine

Are you actually going to do this?
Haven't heard of it done before (on the mk1)
I don't think it'll be that cheap to do.
You could get the 1.8T running crazy power and it'll still be a sleeper.

i'd buy a corrado instead, that way you have a nice looking car, that doesn't weigh too much, with a 2.9 Vr6 already fitted, all for £2.5k - £3k
who needs back seats and 4wd anyway, all unrequired weight imo.

If my BMW goes the way it's going, I'll need a new car soon so I'll get an Octavia 4x4 estate. Then I'll have a play with it and I'll put a proper engine in after a while.
I've only seen mk2s too, but my brain is telling me it's possible.

I just don't rate the 1.8t at all. I've seen big power ones but not anywhere near as easily as you can get it from a vr6.

VR6 needs a turbo/supercharger fitted to get big power. It's gonna cost a lot!
1.8T just needs a little upgrading. If you don't like them then that's cool. I can comfortably keep up with R32s in standard 225 form.
But are you actually going to do it?

That's the question. I'd like to.
We shall see. If it's possible, it'd be rude not to.

Someone one there might know as its a bit like here, even though its a golf site theres people on there that work on cars across the board or they might know a better site
Iv used a few vag forums, I'd also say your best bet by far is the golfgtiforum for tech data.

See that doesn't seem that cheap to me, I reckon for not a lot more than that I could have a vr6 in one, with a blower and about 325bhp, to start with.

yeah but as said thats using new stuff, keep you eye out for cheaper second hand bits and it can be done for half that, thats reliable power. anything over 300 and they go a bit chocolate

Ade, I wouldn't be using anyones kit, or using anyone to fit it. All I'd need would be mapping.
That kit is overpriced IMO.

That's also using a 24v engine, I'd probably use a proper vr6

IIRC, you can get go around 320-350 on both the VR6 and 1.8T engines before needing to touch the internals (providing you don't constantly drive it like a cock and have shit loads of boost)
I think I will be going for a KO3 turbo with 04 internals which is good for 300bhp, injectors, 4bar fpr, FMIC, zorst, 3" tip and maf, and some mapping
Edit, for info I would be looking at vortex and club gti

where do you plan to get the vr6 from, do you plan to rebuild it?
i asked on corrado forum and they all say it will work, and that the octavia is the same as a mk4 golf but a bit longer

The s4 engine is longitudinal, the vr6 is transverse, all the gearbox etc is the other way.
Jim, id do it properly, rebuild it with some stronger bits probably.
Vr6 would be whatever I can get. They're not hard to come by these days
