Internationals are boring. Cancel the WC and just have a CL style comp instead

With that in mind, the Champions League is the pinnacle for English players.
We're talking about a Liverpool player here Marc so this is irrelevant?
Also Andy Carrol is motived by money, he proved this when he so eagerly left the team he has supported since he was a child not 5 minutes after becoming a regular.
He doesn't get paid to play for England so it doesn't surprise me he prioritises Liverpool tbh.

U MAD?
5 times and no hope of adding to that tally any time soon Chris
Seeing as i knew he had been called up at 9 o'clock no it doesn't, just because he has been called up doesn't detract from the fact King Kunty begrudged his use in the internationals when asking Fabio Capello to limit the use of the striker.

Tbf i think its a case of once bitten twice shy. Gerrard was out for 4 games last time for a crappy friendly so you can understand his logic really.

Agreed.

at the end of the day Carroll is only just coming back from injury and isn't fully match fit. If we had a problem with players being called up would we have let Glen Johnson go?

Just to reiterate i have no problem with players playing for their country and agree it should be an honour. But when its matters like sacrificing players for some wanky little friendly then its fucking daft

Its for the qualifier against Wales. They have Gareth Bale so we need everyone we can get.

Yes my point was more about England call ups in general. Im not saying Carroll shouldnt play because he is a fantastic player, Just think they should be careful because if he comes back injured, KD isn't going to be happy.
