people on about if battary goes flat - its just the same as for all the people who have delocked doors

drew, surely if u have it de-handled its gonna be slightly harder to open the door?

Seeing as theres not just the case of having to unlock the door (if it has been locked) u also need to open the catch mechanism.

I had to get AA out twice. The prised open the drivers door at the top and wdged it. Then got a long rod so they could press one of the buttons on the dash. One's for the boot, the other for the passenger side. Gues which one they triggered.... yup, thats right, the boot. I had to climb in over my install to open the door
Reason why this happened is because I had the engine running and shut the door. I always keep the remote for the doors separate from the key fob ( through experience!!!), but because the ignition was on, the remote wouldnt over ride it. My car was stuck on the ramps at the MOT bay at the time!!
After that, I got the safety button installed so no matter if the engines running, or the battery is flat, pop the button and wal ah.
I have currently locked myself out FIVE times since having the doors done

suppose - when i got a flat battary, i had to take off the front bumper, to pop the bonnet - to put some charge into the battary, to unlock the doors - doh

Claire what happens if the battery goes flat though? Isn't the button connected to an electric circuit from the battery?

If i decide to do this mod I would defo do this thing i saw:

Had to call the RAC out on the weekend and instead of them having to open the bonnet to connect the jump leads they have a very handy plug in there bumper. They just plug there jump leads into this and wal lah!! instant power!

Good idea if u ask me!

i have same sort of thing now - a fused wire coming off my battary, to under the front bumper - jump lead onto it - another onto a brake disc - and doors will pop

all you need is a 12v socket linked to the solienoids, as they only need that much power to pop them. Worsa case you plug in a 12v supply and the doors will have enough power to pop.

Job done.

Also you can get underneath the car at the front and pull the wire for the bonnet realese as Drew said, once you know how its well easy.

Just take off the window seal on the outside and use a coathanger to hook the lokking bar

easier said than done! Spent an hour one night trying to hook my mates with him, it was fuckin freezin aswell!

i use clifford ones, like rocking horse shit to find but worht it

not locked myself out yet, only anz has managed to lock the keys in had to call AA in end, was 3am miles from home

welded bars in doors to stop the coathanger trick, windows cant get put thru easy

was gonna wire a button up eventually, but for now i cant b arsed

battery NEVER fails tho, its a heavy duty one, and if i leave any lights on on car the alarm beeps to tell me, and i cant leave amps on etc as they are controled off stereo, which also beeps to turn it off, and the ps2 runs off an invertor with a battery cut off switch if the power starts to drain

easy as toast
