i think its for monitoring purposes, for things like speed etc, lorry drivers have all sorts of equipment that monitors there driving and when they take breaks etc
its illegal for them not to break at a set amount of time

It's only a tachograph which is legal requirement in LGV's. Isotrak systems and that camera is fitted by choice of the operator.
How she managed to miss the first artic and drive right into the path of the second artic is beyond me. Ban for life imo.

They are fitted to most HGVs now as it is something to do with cutting down on fraudulent accident claims.

None of our vehicles have them fitted. As I stated they're not legal requirement but a company thing.
Our vehicles have isotrak fitted so they can see where you are, How you're driving, if you braking hard or over revving etc.
Apparently the company are thinking about fitting the camera's in our cabs.
This is the latest wagon from our depot to have a smash. Apparently it was hit by an artic carrying chemicals and flipped.
The driver was lucky he wasn't wearing a seatbelt as a crash barrier went into the cab and through the seat.

I know a company a mate works for driving tippers and Plant transporters they have them in all their vehicles.

Yes it will creep in to most vehicles eventually, As and when the technology becomes cheaper.
That's why our company took years to get Isotrak and will take years to get the camera system...They're cheap

What I don't get is why she went around the arctic coming UP the slip road, aiming for her, did she not think at that moment "Oh dear, I appear to be heading the wrong way onto a busy road" I'm guessing she was thinking more like "The FUCK are you doing on my side of the road knob head!"
I'm going with long term ban.

An old woman did a similar thing round here a bit back. Thing is the slip road was off a huge roundabout and you would have to go at a funny angle to even get on it.
Afterwards the local press had a quote from the copper investigating saying they were looking at ways to improve the junction so it doesn't happen again The junction has been there for 20 years you f***ing rem and no one has ever driven down it before.

Actually looking on street view at where it happened, even with a lack of concentration to end up in the wrong lane, there's still warning signs that should've been noticed that would've had her stopped, out of the way of any traffic before getting to the end of the slip road.
I partly suspect a foreign driver because I'm sure approaching the right hand side of a dual carriageway would set off a mass of alarm bells in any British persons head.
