I wouldn't buy one brand new anyway, I'm not that stupid. You loose way too much money. My current loan doesn't finish until September anyway so I will probably wait till around January/February 2004 then buy one cheaper from a Car Supermarket!

A friend of myn raced one of these new Astra Turbo's up the strip at Santa Pod in his Astra gsi, standard with just a full stainless, and he was only about a second of the turbo on the finishing line!

All of which id choose over the Astra, they are more "drivers"cars

What did the Astra Turbo get up the strip just out of interest? Oh and by the way a second is quite a big gap on a 1/4!

no, we used to own a mk4 astra sri with a calibra turbo lump in it, running 272bhp proven, went like split shit! These new Astra's are a joy to drive, i think you'll like it when you test drive it!

I agree with steve106GTI...all of vauxhalls so called flagship peformance cars are shall we say dissapointing when compared to other manufacturers... well except maybe the VX220 but if your gonna spend that much and on that type of car you could get a lotus elise for that money.

VX220 Turbo is cheaper than the top spec Lotus Elise and out performs it in every category!

ive drove the astra gsi. only had a couple of hundred miles on it. y the time id bought it back the exhaust was crackling didnt feel much difference to my corsa speed wise but drove more like a normal cat than mine does.

Lee, thats what I want though. Something fast that I don't have to constantly thrash to 5,000rpm+ to get any real power out of it. That and I think it looks a stunner and the interior is beautiful. Would still modify it but only subtlely!
