mines running 125 with an inlet and cat back
So if you get a exhaust mani, port and polish the head you will gain 52bhp
ther's only 1 way to find out!

take the windscreen out, also rear screen and headrests, this makes you aerodynamically faster as you don't have to move the air over your car, it just passes through the car

It would use more fuel, a warmer engine is a more efficient engine

will that hang lower or is that 4.1?
the 4.1 hangs low mate 4.2.1 fit up tight like the standard

IMO 421 manifold's are better. Main reason for me is that the 4 into 1 are stupidly low to the floor and just scrapes everywhere lol. But they both do give different gains. I think a 421 is better for mid range power and a 4 into 1 for top end power. Something like that anyway but i may be wrong though.

as said...inlet, stock airbox and a panel filter is best imo, decent 4-2-1 ex manifold...making sure the lambda boss is at the bottom of the manifo0ld and not in number 3 primary.
as for 177bhp...ive got carbs, high comp pistons, headwork, pretty big cams, sbd ex manifold, 2.25 system...proper competition one, double springs, etc etc, if i make 190-200bhp ill be on the ball.
177bhp is tbs and cams minimum tbh matey. its nearly as good as a lad on turbosport claiming 217bhp@wheels with his 20xe on some mild ast1612 cams....nice to believe but not a hope in hell.

I think around the 140 - 150 BHP mark is more realistic if you have the powerbox type inlet with all the cams, headwork, 421 etc etc.
To reach 170 BHP you would be needing throttle bodies imo

I never caught my old 4-1 on the floor atall - and I live down a badly potholed, rutted gravel track and lane...
