mate im not going to be funny with you but the knock senor on the evo is there to detect detonation before top dead centre (trying to force piston to go the wrong way) the timing can be moved to allow more time before the spark stopping this.
do you know anything about turbos.
a small turbo running 1.4 bar will not produce the same as a large turbo at 1.4 bar (am i not correct)
so the smaller turbo running 1.7bar (origional turbo setting) did not create as much power as the new bigger turbo at 1.4 bar so what you just said there was bull

Nice mate fair play. I'd love one but it's not the cost of the car it's the running costs that come with it that put me off. Oh and 2k+ insurance lol

petrol 120 a week
insurance 2730
service is about 150 to 200
and tyres, brakes are not cheap and god forbid if anything broke,
then tuning as there is always a need for speed and more carbon lol

forgive me but did you not claim you were planning on or running 400bhp, you had purchased your claimed new turbo and forged internals but was going to fit turbo and get to 400 without putting the forged parts in?
also as you are aware the main reason for triggering the knock sensor on your cars and similar cars is because of poor quality fuel for the engine or too much timing.

thats why i have pulled the timing back to stop any knock from happening like i said a few posts back. i only run on v power so no other fuel comes in to play
400bhp is a safe limit for the evo engine the turbo is good for 500-550bhp with just a new set of h or i beam con rods so what was your point there. yes it is running near enough 400bhp give or take a few horses. i need my car and havent had chance to do the internals

taking to 1.8 bar made the boost jump to much from low 3000rpm and couldnt get it smooth enough which was putting stress on the con rods and was spiking to much so we took it back down to holding 1.4 bar (1.5 peak) not peaking at 1.4 bar holding 1.2 (which was in your linked thread)

Servicing on these is mega money. every 6 months it needs a service even if do fuck all miles. Every 12 months it needs the AYC Servicing.
Fucking pricey when you add up insurance, fuel and general other maintenance etc
But fuck yeah I would love one

They aint mega money unless something goes wrong, ayc oil change is £60. I never had any problems at all with my old MR amazing car and so far so good with my new one.
