Both valid points, I just look at the size of house and over in Kent that's gotta be at least 250k which would be way out of budget! Whereabouts is it John?

Outskirts of Glasgow, wasn't 250k, I got a bit of a bargain imo.

Not done much. Cut the grass, having a BBQ today.
Ripped a bit of the mirrored wardrobe in my bedroom out.
I'll get more pics when my internet is sorted.

Small update after a lot of hard work tonight (I wasn't lying about 5's Hammer)
The couches and bed that were taking so long to come have snuck up on me, coming in a couple of weeks.
Carpet in living room is getting put down before that so need to get my arse into gear.
Took the fire out last week, got it bricked up tonight and sorted out cables for the living room, looks a million times better.

What tv is that? Surround is small shame you bricked the fireplace up though.

Samsung UE55D7000.
Fire was an old gas thing, wasn't really a proper fireplace, found out that they'd just knocked that out with no lintel either. I'm sticking an electric one somewhere else, that corner is the only one I could use for the couch and be able to get the TV on the wall.
Brilliant seeing the TV not surrounded by wires.
It did look like

Picture of that fancy bracket for anyone interested.
Picture of the TV to give a sense of scale, that's a normal sized 3 seat sofa.

Carpet fitted today, TV wall finished. Just the couch to come on Wed then need to get a couple of tables etc and fill the empty half of the room.
Crap camera and harsh flash but you get the picture.
Power cable going to sub will be hidden by couch.

Looking good! but you went to the effort of hiding the cables but you still have the speakers on stands? why didnt you wall mount them like the centre?

This tempts me to take my fireplace out and do something similar. Currently my TV is in a corner which ruins the 5.1 but the perfect spot for it is where the fireplace is

What have you done with the power cable for the TV? Isn't it against the law the run it behind a wall?

Nismo, speakers are on the stands deliberately, I think it looks good because still no cables visible, easier to change them to the wall afterwards if I wanted to.
There's a hole cored through to the cupboard behind James. Not sure on any laws and wouldn't have paid attention anyway tbh.

No unit under it, that's it, everything else hidden away.
Speaker should be under.

How come the TV is so far over in the corner of the room? Wouldn't it have been better in the middle of that wall?
Might just be the perspective of the photos.....

Naa it is far over.
Couch is going in that corner, its about central to the couch where it is just now, middle of the wall would be too far the other way.
It might need moved a bit but I'm hoping not, I could maybe move it a foot before the hole behind it would be visible.
The room will kind of have 2 sides to it, that corner there with the couch and TV and we're not sure what to put in the other bit, it's 6m long.

Couch in, these pictures show me that my camera is really bad, need to start using the DSLR again.
Really pleased with the couch.
From where I sit on the couch, if TV was further towards centre of the wall it would be too far over, ended up being perfect.
