Dont miss the car in this weather- bloody lovely on the bike this week - especially burning past all the snarled up traffic I know I would normally be sat in.

Kids? Fuck that
Personally I'd give it a good go riding but I'd be selling the TT and buying something that's cheaper to run for when it rains.

That's an odd outlook to have. Kids should be planned, it's not a logical step in a relationship

Any money behind you both? £800 a month is not going to support kids. If you can't run an Audi TT you can't afford kids IMO

I'm not going to disclose how much I earn but I wouldn't want to have kids on the sort of money I earn, and it's more than your payrise... plus you have to want them not 'fuck it, it'll do!'

I don't understand how, my commute is ~18 miles in a car of 30/40/50 and NSL road and that takes 40 minutes on a good morning.
I must be averaging 35mph... Infact I'll reset the trip computer in the morning and tell you.

What if you get a puncture 5 miles from work, do you?
A - walk the rest as you will be late if you head back home.
B - continue on your journey knowing for the rest of the day youve got to walk back 10 miles.
C - give up and just buy a cheaper car to run.

Scoot i pick d - get puncture proof tyres
Kerry - im 22 not 16
Pow - obviosly it depends on traffic ect in a car. If i keep a min speed of 10 mph for most of the journey then ill be fine

Cycling 10 miles is unrealistic IMO, especially if your as unfit as you say lol! Sorry...
I don't think so, however if you are unfit there is a chance you will be pretty sweaty if you want to do it in a reasonable time, so probably a no go unless showers are available in work.

What I would do is just carry a spare tube or 2. If you have a puncture then change it. Takes 5-10 mins max. to change. Always give yourself 10-15 mins more than you need then if you get a flat you have time to change it. If you are on the road you won't get many flats anyway. I've had one flat in the last 200 miles of road riding and thats on a road bike with narrow tyres thats a lot more delicate than a mountain bike.

at work the big sideloader truck we have, has some stuff sprayed in the tyres, its like a tyre weld but really works.
when the tyres got changed it had about 50 nails in it and the company who make the gel kept the tyre as a display piece of how good the stuff is.

Not completely unrealistic? I'm pretty fit and could probably do 10 miles in just over half an hour, say 40mins it's not going to take more than an hour even if you're unfit.

If it could be done in an hour I'd think about it (and not do it anyway).
I like the idea of exercising without wasting any of my time.
