Nice not having your clothes stink whenever you nip down the pub though

yeah, and nice not to get cancer from selfish murderers

Who forced you into a smokey pub

who forced someone to walk into a knife?

I don't smoke, but worked in a pub/club for a few years when the ban came in, before it came in, I didn't really care, it's now come in and I have to stand outside with my mates when they all go out for a fag. Still don't care, it is nice not stinking of fags when I come home though.

But if it's banned outside in public, the only place it's now allowed is in the home? or a private residence? That's a bit too far tbh

I a agree with the banning of smoking in public places 100%

What annoys me is forcing it on pubs where people have the choice to go, if they don't like smoking go somewhere else.

I'm a non smoker btw

I think they could have a designated pub for that shit. But the majority of brits aren't stupid therefore don't smoke, so why penalise them?

That's it why I should I suffer for something that a minority does? For once we aren't pandering to a minority as is normally the case in this country!

I'm all for the e-fag

then if people wanna smoke in pubs they won't be killing anyone and just giving themself a hit of their drug addiction.

I think a more sensible approach might be to stop more people starting smoking.

For instance maybe the government could say ok the legal age to buy cigarettes is 18 so anyone who is not yet 18 should not be smoking? the date today is 23/5/11 from now on, unless you were born before 23/5/93 you can not buy Cigarettes and they will be slowly phased out

I smoked for 10 [heavily] but quit over a year ago and still miss smoking & regularly dream about cigs now

Nothing changed round here when smoking was banned. People didnt stop going to pubs because they couldnt smoke indoors. Random.

I don't get people saying pubs are dead as a result of the smoking ban, when it came in the pub I worked in had increased sales!
I know Wetherspoons as a national chain is doing better now than ever

People can choose to drink, people can't choose to breath in 2nd hand smoke. Yes, they can avoid it but then smokers can also go outside.

People who smoke can use e-fags/e-cigs if they want their fix. That way they're not killing other people who just want to kill themselves with drink.

no they got very veyr badly by the smoking ban all pubs did. they also incurred huge costs in refitting pubs to get rid of the smells and to turn themselves in gastro pubs and fit out gardens to accomodate smokers
