Only £600 to service a Ferrari 360 would've thought it was a lot more.


bearing in mine it would cost about 150 to service a normal car of the same age it is alot

Im sure the likes of ebay, halfords etc will stock basic service items such as oil, filters, brake pads for ferraris at such cheap prices.

I notice it on the Discovery - doing discs and pads this week and they're twice as much as my other dailys, tyres are loads of money, needs a bumper but they're just not available second hand.

Ferrari, particularly an old one would be a nightmare.

As for Halfords having the bits - try it - I think you may be disappointed.

Buying one isnt the hard part, I would think lots of people could afford to buy them but are in no position to maintain them, general maintenance and replacing anything that breaks will be very expensive. Good luck though.

It might be 600 for a oil change - but 360s (assuming he is talking about having one) need belts doing every couple 2 years/ or 6000 miles or something stupid like that. My mate works for a ferrari dealer and he is always telling me about people buying 'cheap' 360's at circa 30k and its not rare for them to come out with a £6000-£10000 bill after the belts have been done, full service, brakes and bushes (common problem).

buy a 20k ferrari will prob be more expensive to own than a 100k ferrari.

I can afford to buy one... but i consider running it too, and i'd run it hard.

£600 service is cheaper than an ///M3 InspcII

Also £1100 for a clutch is cheaper than an ///M6.


Not cheap obv (Its a Ferrari FFS) But not as bad as i would have expected. However, they are VERY fragile and highly strung. The BMWs will do nearly 20k between each of those services if not more.

Who worries about services and breakdowns? Fuck sake as a weekend car if it broke it would sit in garage. I have no mortgage thanks to the gfs dad and will be totally debt free if my 5 year plan works out


Lol in 5 years i probably wont want a ferrari but will hopefully have 20k in thr bank

john mate, i really really do hope this works out for you, but we're only looking out for you.

my advice would be go on pistonheads, explain the situation and ask any 328/348 owners for their views/opinions and how often things break and whether they are wear and tear or due to user error.

it is nice to have a goal to work towards though, so hope it all works out.

Im pretty much certain its more than 1100 for a clutch fitted by a dealer/specialist. People who buy these sort of cars wont touch them without a known specialist/dealer history anyways.

Ben g - nail and head.... Its a goal of mine to own one. Getting 20 together over 5 years is easily achievable, by that time my situation will most likely of changed. The key is a goal to save for.

Dont see a problem personally with trying to achieve a dream no matter how unrealistic it may be.
