theres a master set for vauxhalls, theres only 30-40 different types!
and tbh he shouldnt have to remove it, technically. Abit like if you bought the car and the fan speeds didnt work - its bad salesmanship but you bought the car like it

MOT is only valid for the day it's issued though, so unless you can prove its the same CV & nails then you havent really got a leg to stand on.

You wont have any joy with vosa mate as the cv boots can come off at any point and was proberbly secure AT THE TIME OF TEST! this is all vosa are concerned with. And nails in the tyre are not a fail!
If you can give me the test number of the MOT i will print off another advise note to tell you what they are and if it is bad then i would go down the rought of not fit for purpose with the sales man. if the cv boot has come off again then the should fix this again (whoever fixed it the last time).

hi tony, well i checked just before the test and it was off, so surely it was not secure at time of test?
the advisory was play in track rod end ball joint

It could of been fixed while at the garage with a cable tie. then it passes but it falls off again. i dont think you have a utter chance apart from taking it back to the garage and saying the repair that was done to the CV has failed again.

Agree with this go back to the garage for a go at the CV boot repair and ask them how bad the track rod end was and see if the sales place will repair it!

From a sales point of view, you have been mis sold, so that's the angle I would go with after you agreed sale pending two jobs whic weren't done as agreed.

How is it being mis-sold? Unless he can prove that the CV joint wasnt changed he hasnt got really anything to stand on. The only thing he can do is go back and say the cv has come off again.

True. Sale was agreed on a puncture and cv joint being fixed and they aren't. Obviously proving it is a Fine point. So shitting through his letterbox will be an idea

Go back and say its came off again after it was 'fixed'. If he says it was never fixed then you know it should of failed the MOT.

its either bad workmanship or it hasnt been done
if they were both there and agreed i highly doubt within a few days both issues would both reoccure within a period
put it this way if you had a cv joint fitted and a week later the boot was hanging off could you take it back to the garage to put it right. i think so.
any decent garage would apologise and take 5 mins to put another clip/cable tie on it

Traders have to give any advisory sheets on cars sold to the customer now, otherwise its hiding information.
But to be fair you can't expect them to fix the track rod end, if its passed its passed.
