i used to get around 36-38mpg out of my octavia diesel.
if your looking at VAG with 2.0TDI lump and your using it around town you will clog up the DPF so would stay clear.

Punto like mine, get a top spec one with around 40k for 6 grand easy, £200 on a remap will take it to around 190 bhp
same chassis as a corsa vxr too, they handle very well

no, i believe also that the engines are weak and prone to breaking (cant remember what, fuel pump maybe) theres a reason anyway why we dont do them,

My petrol Clio does 50+mpg on average no matter how I drive it and petrol is obviously cheaper than diesel too. This is why I begrudge getting rid of it for a diesel as the diesel will cost me more on fuel.

What engine is in the petrol clio and how slow is it if it does 50mpg?
It's a trade off as always, petrol or diesel.
A small slow engine is surprisingly probably more fuel efficient than a bigger faster one.

Just a standard 1.2 16v. Surprisingly nippy about town and been to Manchester/Birmingham a number of times and sat at 70mph comfortably getting high 50s.
Fair enough, slow in comparison to a remapped 1.9 turbo diesel.
We also have a 1.2 Corsa 57 plate which we'd be lucky to get 30mpg and is slow as shit.

Quite like that.
I'll be selling my mk6 fiesta zetec-s tdci as soon as I sell my golf. Full ST body kit lowered slightly on eibach springs with 17" alloys.
I'll be asking for less than that as well

77k miles, mot'd till end of November, taxed till the end of October but it's only £30 a year ST bodykit fully colour coded, facelift headlights, brand new genuine ford driverside caliper and alternator (bloody expensive) new catback exhaust, new fuel pressure sensor and take off valve. K&N panel filter, 17" alloys with loads of tread on the tyres. Runs perfect. All ready to be remapped which will give upto 125bhp/200lbft. It's the 1.6 model not the 1.4

I was on the lookout for a set of ST wheels in anthracite which I think would look superb. You can pick them up fir as little as £100 without tyres.
