Drugs innit!
I find you have to warm up before and do the fucking idiot looking poncey stretches afterwards and a cold shower. The shower shocks your muscles and gets rid of lactic acid build up or some mumbo jumbo. The stretches work for me and I'm old and proper fat. If all else fails drugs.

Just had another thought. Have you got the right kind of shoe? Have a look around the web I think sports direct have a video that shows how to test to see what kind of feet you have. I can't remember what it's called but some folk have flat feet some need extra support on the arch of the foot etc..
If your using the wrong style of footwear you can cause real damage by all accounts.
Or MTFU..

Good work.
Will check my feet out later. Manning up is all I'm doing now but as a rule pain is body's way of saying stop, and if it keeps happening at such short distance there must be an issue.
Final day of week one today. Last time I found it easy so hoping when I start week two the extra tome running works out ok.

Dan, get yourself to a proper running shop who will do a gait analysis on your feet. They will then suggest various shoes for your type of foot and let you try them on for comfort and fit. Most shops have a treadmill for you to try them on. I would avoid places like JJB as most of them have no idea and could cause you more injury by advising you incorrectly
After looking on yell.com this http://www.runnerscentre.co.uk/ appears to be the one and only shop nearest to you.

First session of week 2 out the way. Managed it ok, was sweating like fuck though by the end. Feel great during and after now. Defo feeling better for it.
Legs still killing after about a min now, but I tried stretchs today so hoping it gets better.
I check my feet and they are flat. Where can I get dirt cheap trainers from?

What distances and what training plan have you got?
I run monday/wed/friday and vary the routes and distances. Vary from couple of miles to 8 miles with the odd long run like the half marathon i did sunday.

Ha! Fucking hell you're a mere boy at 28!
I'm doing similar. A couple of 5mile runs and a biggy at the weekend. But at my age if I can do the half marathon in three hours I'll be fucking chuffed...

Yea. I've got flat feet.
Trainers to suit this all seem mega money. I want cheap as possible. As I know I'll end up wasting them when I give up lol

I use Endomondo as i think its the best one, especially to track your PB's.
Use that as something to motivate you... keep improving your times.

Once ive done this training plan and can run 5k without stopping etc, ill get on the road and use endmondo i think.
At the min though, i just need to get myself fitter, so im not running like a spaz sweating my nuts off 2 mins after i leave the house.
