Don't think you can eject too low. The pilot of the mustang that crashed at Duxford ejected a little bit late and had a pretty hard landing.

"One of the local farmers said they'd seen rescue teams pulling the pilot out of the river."

fingers crossed!

Gutted about this. When I lived in Lincoln I used to regularly see the Red Arrows. Used to get some of the crew in the hotel too.

Confirmed dead

Has been bad luck for Bournemouth Air Show this year. One plane grounded, flooding and a crash .

Believe he did but too late. Probably trying to make sure plane was not going to hit houses etc. Absolute hero.

Mustangs do not have ejector seat. You have to jump out.

Most ejector seats are whats called zero zero. Ie, zero air speed and zero altitude so you can never be to low.

If its true about him staying in the plane too late so he could steer it away from buildings then the blokes even more of a legend than he already was!

Either way RIP

I think he did eject as I read a report that some people went into the river and pulled out the ejector seat from the river but then saw the pilot on the other side of the river.

He ejected very late, due to trying to avoid hitting houses/walkers.

Hero.
