There's a good chance if it's on an alien website and not anywhere reliable, for instance NASA, I'd say it probably is made up yes.
Draw me a diagram of how that could possibly be obscured from earth for 3600 years at a time.

I'm well aware of what can and can't be seen, for instance the surface of the moon where they've left reflectors from the moon landings.
