Nismo, the HKS I had was a special one from the USA, not the hi power.
I'd be tempted to get a q300 as it gives the car a really nice growl...

- ultimately though, I think I just hold onto cars for too long.

sounds like just cosmetic stuff, i would buy a hardtop, tune the engine and not worry about it being a bit rough around the edges, just drive it like a man and no one will notice the blemishes

I'd keep the S2000 before I bought a 370, it looks like a chavved up version of the 350 imo. Especially the wheels. Only thing going for it is the vastly improved interior.

I would keep the S2K. The 350Z is a bit old hat now, a colleague has a 370Z but I think it's a bit chavvy.
I would hold out until you can do a decent upgrade

You can own one as long as you can have it anywhere in the UK in 20 mins

I loved mine and miss it loads, having never driven a s2k though i cant compare.
but as said the zed is more gt than sports car imo, best handling car i have owned (but thats based on me having a corsa + ibiza mk4 before it).
felt very well planted, would of been better with 4 matching tyres mind .
engine pulled like a train and was far too easy to get it to triple figures (one of the reasons i sold it).
as for mpgs i averaged around 250ish miles to a full tank which cost around 80-90 to fill up.

They are definitely heavy, you don't feel very safe chucking it into corners especially because the tail comes out very easily.
It feels and sounds like a muscle car though, pulls consistently in every gear.

and what broke on it when you were meant to come to combe?
The alternator decided to die 2 days before Combe. But that's all repaired now. I'm currently having a new cylinder head built for it with some lairy cams...so gonna get that all fitted and set up, then probably look at selling it. No idea on the price yet! Will have to have a think..
I think you would get bored with a 350z imo, have you driven an E46 M3? They're proper cars! They feel so poised and quick..

m3 is more heavy than 350z and s2000 i think. I've only been out in Jambo's and it didn't feel that fast.

Paul, dont suppose the new shape S2000 would float your boat? Sat in one last night (GT version) and I thought it was a bit more refined than the older one with a few more toys, better finish and I think it looks better too!
May be a good compromise?
(I've owned the older one btw before anyone asks lol)

Yeah I considered upgrading to a newer s2000, but I'd want my suspension on it, setup in the same way it is now. It's possible but just a bit of hassle.

You may be called upon to chase down stolen cars if you buy a 350z.

I never had below 20's average and i had some motorway blasts in it, you mus the driving it more than moderately fast surely?
Miss the gearbox, best one ive experienced until it started crunching, i found it quite capable in corners despite its weight. and the noise on start up/the burble sound around 2k when feathering is the nuts. Miss mine

I get an indicated average of 24mpg but I'm getting about 150 miles tops for 50 quid the past fortnight

I read that and thing "fuck that". Since losing interest in cars a bit and getting myself a stop gap car (corsa 1.3 CDTi) for work and back I now cant ever see myself getting a car so bad on fuel again. I now get 400- 500 miles out of a tank (£35-40) where as previous cars were worse than you 150 to £50
