It's not about the power the Mondeo has or how fast you drive it mate. It's if a strong gust of wind starts making the trailer wobble, you don't really have the weight to hold it steady.

I used to tow my nova on a twin axle trailer with a mk 2 1.8 td mundaneo way back in 2004.
No problems at all and i covered serious distance in it. No stiffer springs or shocks required either.

Why not put the tools etc in the corsa instead of weighing down your suspension? Weight will be better off on the trailer and wont drag the back down as much

He's limited because of his license so he won't get away with adding much weight on the trailer, Without having the B+E entitlement, towing cars is hard to get the right setup whilst keeping within the restrictions, so trying to then add more weight to the trailer is nigh on impossible.

My Dad had two Mondeo company cars. 2001 & 2005. With all his tools in the back it was low as fuck.
Think both of them went to Ford and had some sort of self leveling suspension fitted. Go over a few bumps and it was back to normal.
Thats as much as I know though

Yeah that's B+E, I did mine at the beginning of the year, makes life so much easier, plus I needed it because the only thing I've got capable of towing my Corsa is our 3.5t Transit

I've got a 2004 mondeo, corsa plus trailer was a little over 1.1tonne, and nose weight was around 60kg, but my tow bar was rated to 75kg,
I just had a pair of them rubber spring spacers in, probably did 2k with it, towed easily at 60, just having to drop down to 5th for some long up hills,
