In my opinion, the question is whether it's worth the extra pennies.
Think it depends on the car/engine tbh, my knackered old 2.0TDi (or a 1.5td corsa etc) is gonna see no difference, but something like Rob's V10 Touareg probably will

I'll give it a go with my next tank. I should be able to get 600 miles out of this one. Costs about £5 more a tank though. What's that? 40 miles? Will probably work out the same.

Update......after driving 200 miles back home, average with usual derv is 44mpg. now 52mpg.
Normal driving about town and stuff at's sitting at around 51mpg.

So if your getting an extra 7mpg and have an 10gallon tank, you will get 70 extra miles per tank. Thats a massive distance for an extra £5 or so.

Indeed it is. Think i'll stick with it for a few more tanks.
Engine seems to sound a little 'harsher' though.

Not a chance v-power diesel has given you 8mpg extra.

I believe dervs are not to o crictical on fuel grade hence they do not see the gain like petrols cars do using VPower
What I will say is I get better range when using BP shell etc rather than supermarket fuel. BP ultimate and VPower is 10p a litre more than standard so its over £7.00 more each fill up (Just over a gallon in volume) . Therefore I would need to get at least an extra 55 miles out of the Vpower to benefit

I get 51mpg average regardless of fuel. Always found v-power diesel made my old astra a bit smokier aswell

I'm not bothered what the computer says. I'll test and see what mileage I get from each £50.
