No because it's not entered its typed online.

How the hell do they know the top 500 passwords and top 10 used?

How would they gather that information.

They gather that information because people enter their passwords. Just because its not entered and just typed doesn't mean that they dont know what you're typing, otherwise how would it know what it was comparing.

if you haven't read the privacy policy:

Is my password safe?

How Secure Is My Password uses JavaScript, which is a client side language - all the calculations are performed by your computer. This means that once you've loaded the site in your browser nothing else will pass between your computer and the server - nothing you type in leaves your computer. If you'd like to check this you can load the site and then turn off your internet connection - everything will continue to work.

Why doesn't the site use HTTPS?

You won't get a little padlock sign for this site, which means it's not using HTTPS - an encrypted form of HTTP. This is because no information is passed between your computer and the server, so there's nothing that needs encrypting.

Correction - they're not using their own stores to decide whether your password is in the top ranking.

The data comes from that Xaro link which is gathered from a few more systems.

It's compared as you type it but not stored.

So they can see everything you type in there, without even submitting it?

tbh, does brute force even happen that much these days?
I thought most passwords are stolen from Malware and viruses, which makes your password strength irrelevant
