Proper mental. Can't believe that was a Cat D. How can that be put in the same category as a car with a light front ender.

Many of people would have hired out a cement mixer and slapped the fillers on

More to it than just damage. Age/mileage spec etc. Say for instance a corsa b with 100k may need a bonnet and a wing, could be a cat c. But a corsa d with 10k may need a full front end, chassis legs etc can be classed as a cat d.

I wouldn't be put off buying that car at all after seeing those photos even though it does look a bit serious when you see the photo of the whole rear quarter and back end cut out. The standard of the work looks fantastic, not your average repair job.

They have basically done what happens as new in the factory. I would buy that for 20k!

Not sure what manufacturing covers, it doesn't cost 8k all in anyway.

Often wondered the price of making a car. Like you say there is more to it than just building it, there is all the research, design and development. And still need to make profit. Be interesting to see how much profit they are making per car though.

8k is probably material costs and the actual building. Then there will be all the design and development, crash testing, physical testing, marketing, taxes, transport, etc

Just found a pic of the one I thought this was earlier this year:
Judging by the number plate, it's not the same one!

to put things into perspective, i use a semi auto robot at work that torques up 6 clutch bolts which cost 300k.
every engine we sell to customers costs 500-1k.
8k all in for an m3 seems a tad low.

No Ben. Cars are free to make, designed by volunteers, funded by donations from wealthy entrepreneurs and the company is a registered charity. The fact they make a profit is disgusting. Just goes to show they take the £42k profit and throw money fights and watch videos of poor people they call "comedies"
