Zetec-S are nippy cars...I think the vauxhall bias is coming through on a few peoples comments on them. I agree they arnt blisteringly fast but there good enough. And they look better standard than any corsa std.

Im not biased with owning a corsa and i can vouch that these cars are slow for what they are, my driving instructor had one and i must admit they are slow as f*ck, stlying wise cant fault them however.

to say they are slow as fcuk is just ignorrant...they are not slow...I had a 1.6 sport and it is just as quick as that...top end it is a lot better though.
there handling is much better than the sport though so GTF..

I wouldn't say the Zetec-S is any quicker than a 1.6 Sport but it certainly will outhandle one easily.
And standard styling is better too.
Unbiased as I don't own a Ford or Vauxhall.

Thank you...I have owned both a 1.6 sport and a Zetec-S and theres nothing in it with peformance...but the zetec-s has far better handling and looks a lot better too.

Vauxhall's 1.6 engine vehicles
underperform in comparison with other manufacture models.
Compare a Corsa GSi with a 1O6 GTi, it's not even close.
The 1.4's are only marginally better with the SRi 16v's still falling short of Metro GTi's and AX GTi's.

But the tuning potential is good, SBD have 250bhp+ from a vaux 1.6 16v.

zetec-s is a slow car. anything that takes 30s to get to 100 and over 10s to get to 62mph is slow

I can safely say my car doesnt take 10 secs to get to 60 vib's...granted they are not the fastest car in the class...but still a nice motor!

My mate has spent a lot on his Zetec s engine and thats only 130bhp. Air filter, Exhaust, Cams, ECU and cylinder head have all been modded.
130+ is a hell of a lot easier on the 16xe's

Granted the Zetec isn't very quick for a 1.6 16v but Ford's figure of 1O.2 is way out.
Realistically they can hit 6O in around 9 seconds.
I completely agree with the lad who compared the performance with the Corsa 1.6 Sport although the Fiesta will handle better.

Sheff until u drive the zetec-s u are basically giving a bias view...I have driven both as has grousey I suspect..and there really isnt nothing in it with peformance...the fiesta has a lot better handling though.

look at the stats u fool
they both have around the same BHP 106...the corsa prob has one or two horsies more...but the zetec-s is slighty lighter...I have driven both cars and I am telling you they are virtually identical in straight line speed... I feel like im repeating myself here!!

ooohhhh, repeat yourself all u want u ford loving idiot. also, on the stats the zetec s is closer to the 1.4 sport (obviously on the quicker side) than the 1.6. my m8's mums lupo 1.4 16v sport nails zetec s' too.
