I don't think Nokia have had a killer phone since the n95 tbh, my supposed 5800 iPhone killer was utter shit, Nokia need to come back with some stupidly amazing phone running android in my opinion and until they do that they're history. I know of about two people with windows and I'll be honest from the reviews I've heard I won't be buying one of those.

They definitely need to go Android, or massively improve OVI Store which they won't do!
That N9 does look gorgeous, but unless it's android it won't make an impact.
Style wise I still like my N97, flip out qwerty keyboard, other than that it's not fantastic Although has done all I need for the last couple of years without TOO much fuss

Ovi Music happens to be quite good. I've only downloaded 1 album through it over WiFi. Quite handy considering non-iTunes sties (Amazon, Play) don't support mobile downloading.
The problem with the N9 will undoubtedly be the software, which is the downfall on the N8 too. Hardware in terms of build quality is fantastic, something you can come to expect from Nokia.
I think the N9 is too dated in terms of the internal hardware and OS. I think they're taking steps in the right direction, just 5 years too late.

Android is not going to happen
Deano - What's wrong with the hardware? Apart from the lack of the N8 spec camera the rest is on-par, if not better, than most middle-weight phones (unfortunately it's not priced accordingly though).

Why?
Nothing wrong with WP although I agree that the original release was a little rough around the edges but Mango has corrected a lot of that. Microsoft have also, reasonably, strict hardware requirements to prevent OS fragmentation which is one of the biggest issues with Android.
I guess we'll see what happens in a few months with the release of the 800.

Reading the hardware spec (and without really being that clued up) it does seem it is a bit old before its time.
If it's anything like the N8 it'll be horrid. This is forever having memory full errors. It then closes all open apps down. 256mb of C: memory/ram and only 115mb free, mainly due to Nokia apps which you can't move, or do without.

My old dear has an N8, it is an absolutely woeful phone.
Unresponsive and clunky doesn't cover the half of it.

I couldn't wait over a year for my upgrade so bought a Desire S off eBay. Says enough about what I now think about the C7 Symbian is a hideous OS.
