Its always tough this as said, the keepers with the crap defences in front always look worse in goals conceded, but probably make loads more good saves.

Atm in no particular order i'd say

Chesney
Reina
Hart
Given
Cech

I rate Friedel too but he's a Spud.

As for our keeper Chesney. He's been immense imo behind a shit defence. Saved us on more than 1 occasion. Without him am RVP we'd been fucked.

And he's only 20.

His performance for Poland vs Germany recently too was probs one of the best GK performances i've ever seen in 90mins.

Very hard choice. For consistency, Brad Friedel MUST be in there. Can't remember the last time he made a blunder. So in no particular order:

Brad Friedel
Pepe Reina
Petr Cech
Shay Given
Joe Hart

Chesney has started to look a lot better, as has de Gea but they just haven't been consistent enough to be put in the top 5 imo.

Cost them against Tottenham with a long range shot that a truly top keeper would have saved?

Only "error" I can think of was a swirling low shot where he was unsighted and it dipped under him v Spuds I think?

Apart from that he's not put a foot wrong.

I'm not saying he isn't doing well, but because he's looked good since the start of the season, that doesn't earn him a place in the top 5? One error or not, it was an error that cost them the game. There are better keepers in the prem. Easily. He does seem to be improving though, like de Gea.

Edit: And love the use of adjectives to cover his back a bit It was a 30 yard shot that he could see most of the way that he didn't deal with.

Last season Reina had a couple of clangers - one against Arsenal which cost them 3 points and he either did one the following or week before, can't remember which.

No keeper is not going to make a single mistake.

Really? Had no idea :O. The fact is, Reina has been brilliant for years. Chesney has only started to play well this season. He was pish before it.

The lad has only been playign for us since about November last year and has barely put a foot wrong since bar the CC which was a mix up between him and koscielny!

you only have to watch the 2 matches against barcelona to see how good the lad is - absolute top quality.

obviously im biased but i do see him week in week out and he is deffo up there wiht the best.

Reina and Cech have always been the best but both are on the wane now - look at Reina vs. Norwich for example. Still greta keepers though, as are Hart, Given, Friedel, Robinson etc.

There is no stand out keeper as the ginge says since VDS retired
